GEORGIA AQUARIUM TEAMS UP WITH OCEE!

This year Ocee Art Center will be donating two art projects to the Georgia Aquarium!  Each year while Visual camp is at Abbotts Hill Elementary, we have a collaborative classroom where all the children work together on one giant project. Last year we made an oversized paintbrush and a massive mosaic entirely out of various types of painted noodles. This year we will make a giant Beluga Whale and a Guitar Fish out of wire and paper Mache (along with one other top secret project). The two sculptures will then be donated to the Georgia Aquarium and put on display. The collaborative classroom is used while the camp is still at Abbotts Hill Elementary.  We have limited spaces available so make sure to register today!

Storybuilder is a multi-media program that teaches children plot and character development through sequencing and editing classic tales. Children build skills in context comprehension and publish their own versions of these classic tales. The program features lessons in the form of age appropriate games in letter recognition, consonants, vowels and word families. Testing and data-tracking are enabled through a motivational electronic passport that kids love.  Craft activities incorporating science and engineering topics build on the children's stories and help develop fine motor skills and fundamental science concepts.
