Christa Martin

Christa Martin graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a Bachelors of Fine Art Degree in Painting and a concentration in Museum Studies. Christa emphasizes line, color, and texture in her work and varies widely in themes and style. Her latest work includes a cowboy and Indian series and a series of studies of birds. Christa utilizes watercolor, pastels, pen, ink, acrylic, and printmaking rather than use oil paint. The inspiration for her experimentation is due to sensitivity to the chemicals in oil paint which Christa developed after many years of painting with oils. Christa’s most recent work portrays simple balanced compositions and nature which stems from an influence and experience in traditional Chinese painting. Christa teaches classes and private lessons, accepts commissions and is an avid muralist. Christa is also the Arts Administrative Assistant for Ocee Arts Center, a not for profit community arts center in Johns Creek, Georgia. Christa currently teaches Foundation Drawing and Drawing and Painting.
