Connie Lynn Reilly is a gifted artist with the talent of recreating life on a canvas. Her desire to bring her subjects to life began at an early age. When Connie looked at the world, she saw the color and design of objects around her. Her ability to use drawing and color application skills began to impress all those who gazed into the eyes of one of her portraits or envisioned themselves frolicking in the scenery of her paintings. Her portraits reflect both the outward and inner beauty of her subjects. Her fanciful use of color and detail exudes emotion through each tiny line in a face or glimmer in one’s eye.
Connie’s desire to perfect her drawing and painting technique required a great deal of independent study in the craft of painting portraits. Her paintings are a classical realistic style much like French academic painters and impressionists. Her drawing skills and use of color are unsurpassed by her contemporaries. Her distinct style of portraiture has become highly supreme.
Connie’s portraits and other paintings have received National and International Awards. They are in numerous private and public collections. Her portraits have been published in national magazines and her portrait of “Christine” is featured in the North Light Art Book “ The Best of Portraiture”. In 2002 she completed portraits for the Al Kahlifa Family, the Imir and Royal Family of Bahrain. In 2003 she was featured on the new cable network, “Fine Living” on the show titled “Back to Basics” which featured her portraiture and the portrait process. Recently in 2007 she was featured on the TV program “Living Life with Style” with host BB Webb. Her list of accomplishments also includes the founding of the Southeastern Pastel Society, of which she is President Emeritus and Signature member of Excellence.
